Okay, THIS is good! Freshly made noodles, you can see the noodle man working in the back. Amazing soup dumplings, noodles and great vegetarian options!
The vegetarian options were really good. Vegetarian noodles came with a delicious soy & mushroom sauce and green leafy veg (naibai) thrown in. Noodles here are hand made (AND they're well made!)
If you like your XLBs brothy, your dumplings bursting with meat & flavour, and your la mian slightly hard with sauce that isn't MSG-laden, this is a good place to have a meal.
Small portion and rather expensive (as it is in a typical tourist place). Zha Jiang Mian (minced pork sauce noodles) is not authentic Beijing style but still acceptable in the standards here.
My friend's uncle shop! Haven't ate a good zha jiang mian in a long time! Try the almond and also water chestnut dessert! Plus xiao long bao! Authentic taste!
